Ladies and Gentlemen, I have an announcement to make! As I am sure many of you have noticed over the months, I have not been posting much in the way of new content. Well, you’re about to find out why.

In addition to a bit of a site theme overhaul (it’s not much, but it does correct issues with the former one, such as readability without javascript, dependence on Google and third party javascript usage), I am greatly relieved to announce that Daley’s Frugal Communications Guide is officially live!

For those of you who might not be familiar with it, this is the long-awaited follow-up to the original Communications Superguide in the MMM forums. Originally posted nearly two years ago, the guide has gone on to become one of the most read and posted to threads on those forums totaling over 1280 posts and 132,400 views as of today, along with reports of tens of thousands of dollars saved every year in total by the readership. As is the case with anything posted and maintained in this fashion, it’s gotten long in the tooth, difficult to update, and intimidating to even approach given the sheer scope of the thread length itself. The guide needed updating and a new home, and now it has both.

It has been my great pleasure to help serve the FIRE community these past couple years, and this guide is a labor of love for everyone. Still, I couldn’t have done it on my own. As such, I’d like to thank a few people in addition to HaShem for blessing me with the time, knowledge and the ability to do this. First, I’d like to thank my loving and patient wife and my family for putting up with me when I work on this stuff. I’d also like to give a very great word of thanks to MMM for his generosity and patience over the years in both letting me host the information on his forums despite my speaking against some of his suggested providers. Additionally, I would like to thank Joshua Sheats, Juls, Yolfer at Foundry in the Forest, Kevan Barley, Madage, Joe the Rebel Spy, Paul der Krake, Dahlink, Bakari, OldToyota, Frugalman, and everyone who’s contributed to the guide’s discussion, contacted me, donated to me personally, and shared these links with others. I know I’m forgetting a lot of people, but you are not forgotten and I am greatly thankful for all of your support and feedback.

So without further ado, I humbly present Daley’s Frugal Communications Guide, now with 500%* more everything! May its information help you to do more noble things with your time and money.

Shalom, friends. Be well, and be sure to keep sharing the guide.
